Debbie Downer’s Pick Me Uppers

Today was a pretty rough day for me. More set backs and mountains to climb. Everybody gets them so with that in common I just wanted to share a few of my favorite songs and quotes that keep me trekking.

Lynyrd Skynyrd: Simple Man

“Take your time. Don’t live too fast. Troubles will come, and they will pass.”

“Don’t you worry. You’ll find yourself. Follow your heart, and nothing else.”

“All that you need is in your soul.”

Bob Dylan: The Times They Are A-Changin

“Don’t criticize what you can’t understand.”

Bob Dylan: To Ramona

Fun. “May your path be the sound of your feet upon the ground. Carry on.”

Confucius “The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.”

E. E. Cummings “It takes courage to grow up and be who you really are.”

“If you’re not making mistakes you’re not taking enough chances. And thus not really living.”

“People are always trying to find themselves. But you can’t find something that’s constantly changing. Who you are isn’t an answer to a question it’s an idea for an invention. Accept that. An idea can’t be held, felt, or ever fully explained or understood. An idea is always changing. And that’s exciting. Invent the life you want to live.”

“The moment you are in was your future a moment ago and will be your past a moment from now so don’t let it be another past you concern yourself with in the future.”

“Every moment is your past, present, and future. But there is only one that affects all 3. Live there.”

“It’s the loss of control that people don’t like about time. But in reality it’s the only thing we truly have control over. We just don’t know how to use it.”

Dr. Seuss “I believe in you all. A person’s a person no matter how small.”
